“ A class cannot exist in society without in some degree manifesting a consciousness of itself as a group with common problems, interests and prospects”

– Harry Braverman

‘N’ Is For ‘Not Okay’*

*And people are very not okay right now*

Capitalism can lead to extreme melancholia

It’s NOT OK not to be OK. Its a glib statement to excuse the lack of provision for mental health services and, by extension, to shrug our shoulders at the state of our society.

It’s fucking terrible not being OK, whether you’re suffering depression, a broken leg or an unfair society. If we are NOT OK, things need changing until we ARE.

Talking or complaining about problems are a start and that’s all. Actions and practical solutions are the end.

OBFUSCATION is the misuse of language, the whole point of this article.

It is not lying outright, but using certain words, or leaving some out in order to confuse others into agreeing with you.

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS originally meant avoiding the use of terms that referred to an older regime e.g Imperial Russia or China (post-revolution)

It now means “not using words that upset people” and its connotations with socialist countries have just been used by our establishment’s media as another buzzword to trigger reactionism.

Words should be used correctly and they should also be used to upset the right people.

Some positively queer fellows getting ready to tread the boards!

QUEER used to mean odd, unusual. Then it became a slur for an homosexual. Now it seems to mean anyone the LGBTXYZ community leaders want to include.

People born medically intersex, even people who don’t like having sex.

Gays should be treated the same as any other worker, but this catch-all of queer could include anyone who is not “normal”.

Am I queer because I dont drive?

Are Muslims queer for being 5% of our population?

Is putting brown sauce on an egg butty queer?

I’d go so far to say that this is the most badly-used word on the list.
