No Tears For The Puppet

The recent explosive meeting between President Trump and the actor Vladimir Zelensky in the White House has been interpreted by the Bourgeois press in Western Europe and the United States as a horrible example of Trump being a bully.  However just because the display was indeed disgusting it does not mean that any sympathy should be had for Zelensky himself. Zelensky has since coming to power in 2019 overseeing a process whereby the country that was once known as Ukraine has been systematically dismantled by its Western sponsors in the name of preserving its sovereignty in Independence. zealandski was elected on a platform of peace and ending the war in what was once Eastern Ukraine. However once in office and subject to the full influence of the US and British imperialists he carried out a 180 degree volte face and declared that he would pursue the war with as much vigour as his predecessor Petro Poroshenko. At each stage since the counter revolution of 1991 that destroyed the USSR the Ukrainian working class have been systematically lied to by the comprador ruling class who took over the country after 1990. At each stage the Ukrainian working class have been told that they are advancing towards greater sovereignty when in reality the country has been sold to (often) the lowest bidder. Ukrainian industry (once some of the most advanced in the USSR) has been asset stripped and destroyed. Ukrainian farmland has been sold off to US, French, British and Dutch corporations and the Ukrainian state has become merely a means by which the looting of the country by the imperialists is carried out. The primary role that the imperialists have in mind for Ukraine though is not simply as a source of profits (though that is part of it) but to act as a giant outsourced army that can be hurled against Russia. That the previous government led by Victor Yanukovych was unwilling to play this role was the reason why there was not one but two coups led against him firstly in 2004 and again in 2014. The coup of 2014 finally delivered most of Ukraine into the control of the US and British imperialists with the local fascists acting as their agents. Since then Ukraine has been turned into nothing more than a battering ram to use against Russia in order that the US and its allies could avoid openly having to fight Russia themselves. The war against Russia is of vital importance to the US as its aim is to reinstall a Yeltsin type figure in Moscow and open the country up for systematic looting again. Zelensky is simply the puppet of his US and British sponsors and his job is to make sure that the war keeps going at all costs. That is why he refuses to negotiate, because his very existence is tied to his ability to obey the commands of his sponsors, principally the British, and if he disappoints them then he could find himself in the Mussolini position very quickly. In order to save his own wretched skin Zelensky continues to press gang Ukrainan working class men into the outsourced army of US and British imperialism. Over three years and a million casualties later the war rumbles on and Zelensky is now finding that the US is wanting to extricate itself from the mess in Ukraine. So now JD Vance and Donald Trump disparage their puppet in public and declare him “ungrateful” but the worst thing you can say about Zelensky is that he is the US’s stooge, he has sacrificed his own country in order to please his masters. He deserves all the epithets that can be flung at him and more but we must never lose sight of who the real conductor of this bloody orchestra is and that is the US itself. Zelensky deserves to be damned but he is merely the servant not the master here, the blame for the million plus deaths in this war deserves to be laid at the feet of Trump, Obama, Biden and others who have ordered the destruction of Ukraine.
