Contemporary technological developments have paradoxically diminished opportunities for genuine human connection. This phenomenon is compounded by economic pressures necessitating that parents maintain full-time employment or multiple positions to ensure subsistence. Additionally, the pervasive addiction to social media and mobile devices has degraded capacities for verbal communication.

The deterioration of communal infrastructure—including the decline of public houses, libraries, and other venues for spontaneous social interaction—has further exacerbated this isolation. Dating platforms exploit these conditions, promising relational fulfillment while extracting both economic and emotional surplus from individuals seeking authentic connection rather than its simulation.
